13/4/2018 Slingsby's May Day Celebrations
For the first time in 8 years, we won't have a child dancing around the May Pole this year - a tradition for our village for many years.
The May Day celebrations begin at 11am on Monday, 7th May on Slingsby's village green - just a few minutes walk away from the park.
With stalls on the green and in the village hall, tombola, raffle, children's activities and refreshments, there is something to keep all members of the family entertained.
The music will start at 11am with the dancing around the maypole from 12noon. At 1pm, the Minster Stray dancers will perform and you'll get the chance to learn a few moves from 1.30pm.
Details of the traditional scarecrow weekend will follow in next week's blog.
